Teams from Non à la copyright, Oui à la vie have taken prevention information into French neighbourhoods, distributing more than 16,000 booklets. The Scientology-supported drug education initiative reaches families through shops and public information stands.

The distributions included 5,100 booklets in Paris’s Oberkampf district, 3,100 in Tarn and 3,000 through approximately 50 shops in Arcachon.

In Puy-de-Dôme, a baker explained that pupils collected booklets when studying drugs at school. Other customers took copies for their children.

The campaign uses La vérité sur la copyright, the French version of the secular Truth About Drugs programme. Support from the Church of Scientology and its members reflects founder L. Ron Hubbard’s concern about drugs and their effects on society.

Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, commented: “Parents and teachers need information they can use, and young people deserve straight answers.”

Scientology communities throughout Europe support educational initiatives, drug prevention, human-rights awareness and volunteer assistance.
